GLENWOOD – They played each other this past Monday.

They’ll play once again Monday, Feb. 17.

And in the Iowa Class 3A Substate 8 quaterfinal, they’ll play at Glenwood on Feb. 24, on a – you guessed it – Monday night.

Atlantic boys’ basketball coach Jeff Ebling remarked a couple of weeks ago that his Trojans would likely draw Harlan – the team they are in the midst of playing in a back-to-back Monday night series – in the first round of the post-season.

His prediction was correct.

The Trojans drew the No. 6 seed and will play the third-seeded Cyclones in a 6:30 p.m. game at Glenwood.

The winner of that game will face either the hosting Rams, the team that drew the No. 2 seed, or Greene County. The Glenwood-Greene County winner faces the Harlan-Atlantic survivor at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 at Glenwood.

The upper half of the bracket has top-seeded Winterset, at one time the No. 1 team in Class 3A, hosting Clarke of Osceola and Denison-Schleswig vs. Creston in the 4-5 game. The winners will meet Thursday, Feb. 27, at Winterset.

The substate final is Monday, March 2, at either Atlantic or Harlan.
