ATLANTIC - Officials with the Cass County Community Foundation presented grant funds totaling $27,230 on Nov. 1 at the Cass County Courthouse.
Following is a list of the non-profit organizations who received the grants, what project the grant funds will be used and the grant amount: Anita Health and Wellness Center, exercise equipment, $3,000; Anita Public Library, automated external defibrillator, $1,000; Anita Volunteer Fire Association, air tanks with regulators, $3,130; Ann W. Wickman Child Development Center, indoor interactive technology and gym games, $5,000; Atlantic Public Library, shelving and furniture for youth services, $3,000; Atlantic Rock Island Society Enterprise,Rock Island Depot interior window coverings, $1,400;
Cass County Historical Museum, signage, $1,250; City of Griswold Community Building, ADA compliant doors, $1,750; Friends of the Griswold Public Library, lighting update, $2,450; Griswold Rescue, ambulance pharmaceutical refrigerator, $1,250; Massena Public Library, upgrade system to digital check-out process, $1,500; and Nishna Valley Family YMCA, fire alarm system replacement , $2,500.
These grant funds were made possible by the generosity of donors to the Cass County Community Foundation and the following charitable funds through the community foundation: Griswold Community Development Endowed Fund and Triumph Endowed Fund for Cass County.
The Cass County Community Foundation works with individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to create permanent and expendable funds—such as those above—that address changing, vital community needs and interests.
