ATLANTIC –Anyone looking for a little fun this weekend can come out to Atlantic’s own “air show.”
Members of the Atlantic Hawks will host their Fun Fly at the Atlantic Hawks Flying Field on June 9, starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until dark. The field is located two miles south of Atlantic at the intersection of Highway 71 and Keystone Lane, and the event will be held rain or shine. If rain moves in, flying will be halted until the weather clears up. The event is free to attend for spectators, and they are asked to bring their lawn chairs.
Atlantic Hawks Member Charlie Stogdill said visitors will see a “wide variety of planes, and wide variety of flying styles” during the event, and there will also be raffle prizes for spectators and pilots, thanks to a number of sponsors. Along with all that, Troublesome Creek BBQ will also be on hand selling food and drinks at the event.
Local sponsors for the event include RT Motors, O’Reilly Auto Parts, NAPA, Cappel’s Ace Hardware, Ultimate Lawn and Power, Fareway, Akin Building Center Troublesome Creek BBQ, Olsen’s Outdoor Power, Arnold Motor Supply, Nishna Valley Cycle and Hy-Vee.
