GRISWOLD – Residents of Griswold are gearing up for their celebration- The Griswold Old Soldiers Reunion on July 12 through July 14. Following is a list of activities that are happening during the celebration.

Friday, July 12: Adult Water Fights at the Fire Station, 6:30 p.m.; Registration for the Glow Run at the high school, 7 to 8:15 p.m.-followed by Glow Run at 8:45 p.m. Find more information at

Saturday, July 13: Griswold Fire and Rescue Pancake Feed at Fire and Rescue Station, 7 to 10 a.m.; Pieces and Dreams Car Show and Antique Tractor Show on Main Street, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Registration for Mud Races, 8 to 10 a.m.-races held at 11 a.m. at Fifth and Union Streets-Concession provided by the junior class; Kids Water Fights-near City Park, noon to 1:30 p.m.; Kids Water Games for children elementary ages and younger, 1 to 2:30 p.m.-wear swim wear; Audie Murphy presentation at library, 2 p.m.; Fire Truck Rides at City Park, 2 to 3 p.m.; Old Soldiers Reunion Parade from high school to Main Street, 6 p.m.-theme is Mardi Gras; Beer Garden and food by Famous Amos Foods at Cass Street, 6 p.m.; After Parade in City Park: Optimist Food Stand, Sno Cones, Pony Rides, Bingo, activities and food provided by the Junior Class-including a dunk tank, kids games and freeze pops; Griswold Soldiers Reunion Queen Contest at City Park, 7:30 p.m.- (in case of rain-moved to the Griswold MS/HS Auditorium); Street Dance with music by “Hissy Fit” on Cass Street, 8 p.m. to midnight

July 14: Church in the Park at City Park, 10:15 a.m.; Brunch at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Movie Night at the Central Church of Christ, 6:30 p.m.
