ANITA – City officials in Anita are reconsidering a plan from a couple of years ago which included remodeling parts of the city hall there, and are starting with a search for grant funds.

Anita City Clerk Kaitlin Hodges said back in 2017, city officials worked on a possible plan to remodel the city hall, including making the bathroom area bigger, making the city clerk’s office “more open,” and adding more storage space to it, and eliminating a closet area in a hallway.

Hodges said council members discussed the idea again during this month’s city council meeting, and beyond that, just asked her to see if grant funds are available to use to remodel city hall spaces.

“I’m going to try and see if there are grants available to help pay for it,” she said.
