Atlantic Celebrates Homecoming This Week

Students and staff in Atlantic are celebrating homecoming this week, with a theme of “Lights, Camera, Action!”

The 2019 Homecoming Candidates will be introduced today, and queen candidates include Tayler Burg, Hana Holtz, Kylie Neal, Reagan Pellett, Pluma Pross, Katie Saluk and McKenzie Waters. King candidates include Sage Archibald, Evan Brummer, Zachary Mathisen, Tyler Moen, Nile Petersen, Spencer Ray and Cale Roller. Voting for the 2019 Homecoming King and Queen will be held following the introductions, and judging of the floats will be held tonight.

Dress up days are also be held this week. Students and staff were to wear college gear on Monday, and pajamas on Tuesday. Today is “Tropical Trojan” Day, and students should wear island attire. Tomorrow is “Trojan Magic” Day, and student should wear class colors- gold for seniors, green for juniors, red for sophomores and blue for freshmen. Friday is “Spirit Day,” and students should wear black and gold.

The coronation ceremony and pep assembly will be held on Friday, starting at 12:13 p.m. with the parade to follow at 2:30 p.m. Those interested in being part of the parade need to fill out a parade entry form — available at the school’s web site at atlanticiaschools.org — and return it to school officials by Thursday. The football game -with Atlantic versus Green County- will be held Friday night at the Trojan starting at 7 p.m. The Spirit Stick will be awarded during half time at the game. The homecoming dance will be held on Saturday night from 8:30 to 11 p.m.
