CASS COUNTY – Fifth District Supervisor Frank Waters said Tuesday he doesn’t plan to run again for his seat on the Cass County Board of Supervisors.
Waters said this is his 12th year on the board, and he decided not to run again because he feels it’s time to “move on.”
“It’s just time for me to move on, and let somebody else do this,” Waters said.
Waters said he has 11 months left on his current term, and he has learned a lot being a member of the board.
“I’ve served with really good board members,” he said. “I started out with Chuck Kinen, and Dave Dunfee, and Duane McFadden and Chuck Rieken and they taught me a lot. (Cass County Auditor) Dale (Sunderman) especially has taught me a lot. And I’ve worked with a good board ever since with (people like) Mark Wedemeyer and Gaylord Schelling, and (the current) board.”
Waters said he wanted to announce that he wouldn’t be running again so if there were other people who may want run, they can get started with the paperwork needed to be a candidate for the primary election.
“It’s a good job, it’s an interesting job, and it’s worth your time,” Waters said. “If anybody wants to run, it’s worth their time.”
