Still can sign up for Dye Dash

The deadline has passed for getting a T-shirt, but reigstrations are still being accepted for the annual Dye Dash.

The event is 9 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Atlantic Municipal Utilities’ fields at the Little League facility.

T-shirt pickup (for pre-registrants) and check-in will begin at 9 a.m.

Checks the day of the event, for $30, may be made to Atlantic Booster Club.

Register for Iowa Summer GamesRegistration is ongoing for the 2019 Iowa Summer Games, to take place in July at various sites around the state.

Opening ceremonies begin at 8 p.m. Friday, July 19, at Jack Trice Stadium, Ames. Aaron Thomas of Parkersburg, son of legendary football coach Ed Thomas, is the keynote speaker.

A parade of athletes will take place and fireworks are set to begin around 9:15 p.m.

Most events will be taking place the weekend of July 20, although some will be taking place beforehand.

Sporting events, at various venues across the state, include (but not limited to) archery, badminton, baseball, basketball, bicycling, billiards, bocce, bowling, canoe kayak, cross country racing, disc golf, diving, dualton, fencing, figure skating, fishing, flag football, footgolf, golf, handball, Hoover-ball, horseshoes, ice hockey, lacrosse and martial arts.

Also, a Midnight Madness road race, pickleball, racquetball, rowing, sand volleyball, shooting sports, soccer, softball, spikeball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track and field, water skiing, weightlifting, whitewater slalom, a Zumba fitness class and more.
