Snow blowing in blowing snow

You almost couldn’t see the snow plow through snow still coming down: this man was clearing sidewalks in front of the Audubon County Courthouse.

This time the weather forecaster was right about heavy snowfall on Friday. Snow was coming down starting before 6 a.m. and sidewalks, side streets and Highway 71 were covered in it, and snow was still coming down late morning. A few hardy souls were out trying to clear their sidewalks and plows had been out, but there was little traffic as residents waited to see what the snow totals would be.

As much as 4-6 inches could come down before a winter weather advisory was set to expire at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
