ATLANTIC – A first time event, that proved so popular that people who attended told organizers they needed to hold it again next year, was just recently held in downtown Atlantic at Brymons.
Friends, family and members of the Atlantic Swim Team modeled clothes from “Off The Rack,” a used clothing business, owned and operated by Cambry Miller, during an event held at Brymons on Nov. 7. Models were allowed to pick out three outfits-including a work out or athletic outfit, a casual outfit and a dressed up outfit-to show the crowd.
The show was held in the “historic second floor” above Brymons, and models were asked to fill out a questionnaire prior to the show so Jennifer Miller, as MC, was able to tell the crowd personal anecdotes about each model. For example, one model named Calvin, who is 11-years-old, answered the question, “What three words describe you?” this way: “Kind, calm and insanely handsome.” Models ranged in ages from 3 months to 80 years old, and there were 20 who participated in the show.
Following the fashion show, those who attended returned to Brymons on a red carpet back to the store for wine, sweet treats from Sunnyside Sweets, a chance to win door prizes as well as to browse Brymons new and used furniture, clothes from “Off The Rack,” and home decor, along with other fall holiday items.
Miller said the first time event was a “fun way to show off the space” as well as merchandise in the store.
“I think everybody had a really good time,” Miller said, adding that many people told her that the event needs to be held again next year.
