The Cass County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary met on June 25 at the United Church of Christ (DCC) with 50 members and four guests in attendance.

President Chuck Ehen welcomed those present at noon. Invocation was given by Pastor Nancy Jensen followed by a delicious Salad Lunch Buffet prepared and served by ladies from UCC.

After lunch, President Ehen thanked the UCC Kitchen Staff for the delicious meal. The meeting was called to order at 12:30 p.m. A motion was made by Bob Boots to suspend the reading of the Oct. 23, 2018, General Meeting Minutes, the Treasurer’s Report and the Snack/Gift Shop Report. The motion was seconded and passed.

Jan Steffen, President of the Cass County Master Gardeners, was our guest speaker. She spoke on how to become a certified Master Gardner and about the Master Gardner’s Group Projects.

President Ehen reported there were still spots open to work at the Cass County Fair Auxiliary Booth. If anyone is interested they should call Julia McNees, Chairperson of the Fair Booth.

Also, we are going to hold up on purchasing equipment for the Hospital until the Facility Planning Project is completed by the Hospital Board of Trustees and Leadership Team and they decide what is needed.

Denise Coder gave the CCHS Update.

Because of the cost of badges, they will now only be prepared yearly and passed out at the Annual Meeting. If for some reason a volunteer prefers to have up-to-date hours on their badge, they can contact Carole Schuler. Before this January’s Annual Meeting a new photo of active Volunteers wearing their blue vests will be taken for the badges.

Volunteer Hour awards were announced by Sharon Hansen. Instead of the new badges, $5 Gift Certificates to the Gift Shop were passed out.
