After a couple experienced vehicle trouble this past weekend, the Atlantic Chamber received this message about how helpful residents in Atlantic were with this couple, Dave and Rhonda, who were visiting from Kansas.
“We want to highly commend the people who work in Atlantic. On Sunday of Labor Day weekend our pickup was having trouble so we took an exit ramp to Atlantic. Eric, who works at McAtee Tire, pulled off too, and told us about a radiator. We started putting it in our pickup but ran out of time and needed a part for it. Eric had visited with Ann at Olsen’s BP so she knew we were back there working. She so graciously took us to a hotel, since we had no transportation. The next morning (Labor Day) Eric took the initiative to call Randy with NAPA, which was closed, to ask him about the part we needed. Randy went in on his day off to look for the part, which they didn’t have. He then called Lee with O’Reilly’s and they had the part. We talked to Lee and he was willing to come to the hotel to pick us up, take us to the store, and then drive us back to the pickup. Another gentleman at McAtee also helped us with a few questions we had. We eventually got the pickup running again and are almost home in central Kansas! Thank you to all the people who helped us when we needed it. They paid it forward and we will do it when we get the chance.”
“We’re thrilled others recognize the incredible people that make our community an awesome place to live!” Chamber officials said.
