EXIRA — Need to just get back to nature?
Check out the Littlefield Recreation Area.
It’s a 477 acre county park owned and operated by the Audubon County Conservation Board, and has a 77 acre lake and 100 campsites.
The park includes hiking trails, a swimming beach, fishing, boating (for electric motors only) and a boat ramp, a shower house, three shelter houses and two playgrounds. Recently, a disc golf course has been added in the Old Picnic area, with six goal baskets up and ready to use, as of the beginning of July. There are plans to add in three more, as the grass grows in.
Camping season is April 15 to Nov. 15 and for those experiencing cabin fever due to COVID-19, the campgrounds are open on a first-come first-served basis, for more information, call (712) 268-2762.
