AUDUBON — The Audubon County Landfill Commission is still looking for a new director for the Audubon County Transfer Station, and applications are still being accepted.

Audubon County Supervisor Rick Thompson, who servees on the Audubon County Landfill Commission, said, “We are still taking applications. We had one individual who we thought was going to take (the job) but they declined it.”

Janet Hansen, the director of the transfer station, was supposed to retire Oct. 15, but has agreed to stay on until the end of the year, so that the commission can get a new director in place.

“We are hoping to get someone in place so they can work with Janet,” Thompson said.

Applications may be picked up at the Audubon County Transfer Station, 1881 215th Street, Audubon. Transfer station hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon.
