Members of the First United Methodist Church are collecting gift cards and cash donations for the Jeremy and Heather Sandbothe family, who lost their house in a fire on Sunday.
According to an email from church officials, individuals can drop off donations on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church. Bobbi and Mark McNees will also be available on Wednesdays and Thursdays nights from 5 to 6 p.m. to collect donations at the north door of the church. Those who want to drop off a donation to them should call Bobbi at 249-3434 and they will come out to pick up the donation from the person’s vehicle.
The fire occurred last Sunday at 60091 Boston Road about 5:40 p.m., and firefighters found the house fully engulfed in flames when they got on scene. No one was home at the time and no one was injured in the fire. The house is considered a complete loss.
Atlantic Fire Chief Cappel said on Tuesday they still did not have a cause for the fire, and officials with the state fire office were assisting with the investigation.
