CASS COUNTY - A pre-trial conference for in the case of Alison Dorsey, charged in the death of an 11-week-old infant in her care at her Massena day care, is set for May, but Cass County Attorney Vanessa Strazdas said she didn't expect to see the trial happen "until several months from now."

Strazdas said investigation reports and materials have been provided to the defense attorney.

Dorsey, 36, of Anita, was charged on Feb. 13 with murder in the first degree, a class A felony that carries a life in prison term, and child endangerment resulting in the death of a child, a special class B felony. That charge carries a maximum term of 50 years in prison if she was convicted.
