Cass County Sheriff
On June 7, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office charged Arma Re Roby, 71, of Atlantic, with three charges of possession with intent to deliver hydrocodone (Class C Felonies); three counts of failure to affix drug tax stamp (Class D Felonies); and one count of ongoing criminal conduct (a Class B Felony). Roby was already held at the Cass County Jail serving time; she later bonded on $10,000 bond.
On June 7, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joseph Lee Howell, 35, of Atlantic, on a District Court warrant for Probation Violation. Howell was taken to the Cass County Jail where he remains held without bond.
On June 8, at 3:15 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident on Highway 83 east of Wiota. A 2010 Ford F150 pickup owned and driven by Terry McCoy, 78, of Atlantic, was eastbound on Highway 83 when the driver attempted to pass an eastbound John Deere tractor driven by Michael Lynn Plagman, 43, of Cumberland, which was attempting a left turn into a field drive. McCoy’s vehicle hit the left front tire of the tractor and lost control, sliding across the highway into the south ditch and coming to rest on its top. The tractor driver was able to complete his turn into the field drive and off the highway. McCoy was transported to Cass County Memorial Hospital via Anita Rescue. Damage to McCoy’s vehicle is estimated at $10,000; damage to the tractor is estimated at $500. The incident remains under investigation.
On June 8, at 2:08 p.m., deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident near Fourth and Washington Streets in Marne. A 2019 Freightliner driven by Jerry Lee Dargin, 70, of Minden, got caught on the pavement, buckling the trailer in the process. No injuries were reported. Damage to the trailer is estimated at $10,000. No citations were issued.
On June 9, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Todd E. Foster, 28, of Omaha, on an Atlantic Police Department warrant for theft second degree (a Class D Felony). Foster was taken to the Cass County Jail where he remains held on $5,000 bond.
Adair County Sheriff
Stuart Police arrested a Stuart teen for OWI, first offense on June 6. Mark Thomas Bregar, 19, was cited and released by Stuart Police Department officers.
An Oakland resident was arrested by deputies from the Adair County Sheriff’s office on June 6. Jennifer Renee Avey, 27, was held on a no bond warrant and upon her initial appearance with the Magistrate was released on her own recognizance.
On June 9, at approximately 4:30 p.m. deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office arrested Todd Eric Foster, Jr., 28, of Omaha, on a valid Cass County Warrant for theft in the second degree, following a traffic stop at Highway 34/34 mile marker west of Red Oak. Foster was transported to the Cass County Jail where he was held on $5,000 bond.
