Arrests

On Nov. 21, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brady Lee Fulk, 18, of Atlantic, on charges of OWI first offense (serious) and possession of marijuana first offense (serious). Fulk was taken to the Cass County Jail and released the following day on his own recognizance.

On Nov. 21, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Curclund Jackson VanAernam, 19, of Atlantic, on a charge of possession of marijuana first offense (serious). VanAernam was taken to the Cass County Jail and released the following day on his own recognizance.

On Nov. 22, Jeffrey Charles Dory, 58, of Anita, turned himself in at the Cass County Jail on two warrants for violation of probation. Dory was booked and was released later that day on $4,000 bond.

On Nov. 26, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Korey Linn Cassady, 20, of Panora, on a District Court warrant for violation of probation. Cassady was taken to the Cass County Jail and later transferred to Madison County authorities.

On Nov. 28, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Christopher Dean Sharp, 42, of Griswold, on a charge of assault causing bodily injury (serious). Sharp was taken to the Cass County Jail and released the following day on his own recognizance.

As the result of a traffic stop on Nov. 30, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Morgia Jane England, 40, of Emerson, on charges of possession with intent to deliver meth (a Class B felony), drug tax stamp violation (a Class D felony), possession of marijuana first offense (serious), and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple); and Miles Victor Latham, 55, of Atlantic, on charges of possession with intent to delivery meth (a Class B felony), drug tax stamp violation (a Class D felony), and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple). Both parties were taken to the Cass County Jail. Latham remains held on $30,300 bond; England remains held on $31,300 bond.

On Nov. 30, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ronnie Carl Cardenas, 53, of Omaha, on a charge of domestic abuse assault (simple). Cardenas was taken to the Cass County Jail and released the following day on his own recognizance.

Accident

On Nov. 26, at approximately 6:40 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident on I-80 at the 52 mile marker in Cass County. A 2007 Toyota Camry driven by Matthew Kim Stein, 24, of Omaha, was on westbound I-80 when the driver lost control due to road conditions, crossing the median and striking an eastbound 2012 Freightliner driven by Faruk Korajcevic, 57, of Tampa, Fla. Stein was transported to CCMH via Medivac with minor injuries. Damage to the Toyota is estimated at $8,000; damage to the semi is estimated at $30,000. No citations were issued.
