Harlan Police

On July 2 — Jolene J Rihner, 61, of Harlan, was arrested following a traffic stop. Rihner was transported to the Shelby County Jail where she was charged with driving while revoked.

On July 3 — Joey Lee Ranney, 32, of Harlan, was arrested following a call for a disturbance in the 1500 block of Seventh Street. Ranney was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On July 3 — Cody Emmett Lister, 29, of Harlan, and Bryan Joseph Schuemann, 32, of Harlan, were arrested following the execution of a search warrant. Lister was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, criminal mischief fourth, interference with official acts, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Schuemann was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

On July 3 — Brent Michael Swisher, 36, of Avoca, was arrested following a short foot pursuit that began in the 700 block of Durant St. Swisher was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with trespassing and interference with official acts.

On July 6 — John Allen Veydt, 58, of Harlan, was arrested following a traffic stop. Veydt was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with driving while suspended, and improper rear lamp.

On July 7 — Karen Sue Schuemann, 49, of Harlan, was arrested following a traffic stop. Schuemann was transported to the Shelby County Jail where she was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On July 3, Jaclyn Schumacher, of Harlan, was driving a 2014 Chevy Equinox south on Seventh Street and upon entering the intersection Seventh and Walnut Street, was struck in the left rear portion of the vehicle by a 2011 Jeep Wrangler driven by Tanner Roenfeldt of Harlan. Roenfeldt had pulled off the stop sign and did not see Schumacher’s vehicle.

On July 4, Marvinn Schramm of Harlan was traveling east on Chatburn Avenue in a 2000 Ford Ranger, approaching the intersection of 12th Street. Emily Brouse of Harlan was traveling west on Chatburn Avenue in a 2012 Mazda MZ3, making a left hand turn on 12th Street. Both vehicles had a green light and Brouse made the turn in front of Schramm. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.
