ATLANTIC — An investigation is on-going into an incident at a local bar on Thursday night that resulted in at least one individual being sent to the hospital and then lifeflighted due to injuries, according to Atlantic Police Chief Dave Erickson.
Erickson said details on a bar fight at the Fireside Lounge wouldn’t be released until after the investigation — including interviews and review of video recordings — something that could take several days.
“It will probably be five to seven days (before a report is released) because we have to do a lot of interviews,” Erickson said. Law enforcement was on site for over an hour working on the incident.
And, while law enforcement was trying to sort out the incident in the bar, Erickson said another individual had a small accident in the parking lot.
“One patron and her boyfriend left, and backed into my squad car,” he said. “While the (police) cars were there, with their lights on.”
Damage to the squad car was minimal but resulted in charges for the driver.
