Power pole accident in Creston

CRESTON - Manuel Luke Richardson, 35, of Creston, caused power to go out after his pick up went off the road early Monday morning and struck an Alliant Energy owned power pole. He was not injured, reports say.

At approximately 2:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, Richardson was driving his 1995 Ford F150 westbound on Fremont Street when the vehicle went off the road on a curve, striking the power pole; There was $1,000 damage to the pole, and $2,000 damage to the pick up. Authorities say Richardson was driving too fast for conditions, but no citations were issued.
