Two more individuals have filed to run for seats in Atlantic in the upcoming election, according to information from the auditor’s office.
Jim Behrens filed to run for the seat in Atlantic’s First Ward. The seat is currently held by Chris Jimerson who has decided not to run for the seat again.
Erin McFadden, member of the Atlantic Park and Recreation Board, has also filed to run for a seat on that board. McFadden’s term ends on Nov. 15.
Prior to that, six other candidates have filed to run for seats in towns in Cass County.
Current Atlantic City Council Member Dale Halder filed to run for his current seat, and he will be running against Grace Garrett for the seat, which is an at-large position.
Another current Atlantic City Council Member, Linda Hartkopf, is running again for her seat, which is in the Fourth Ward. Pat McCurdy, who was appointed to the Atlantic City Council Third Ward Seat, decided to run for the seat.
In Anita, current council member Thomas R Harris, who has been on the council for eight years, has filed to run for mayor there. Two other individuals, Mark Harris and Kevin Littleton, are running for two council seats on the Anita Council as well. Later on Thursday, officials said Pat Cassell filed to run to for a seat on the Anita City Council, too.
In Griswold, Carmen Sorensen is running again for a seat on the city council.
