OWI arrest

On Aug. 27, deputies at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Cammi Jo Nelson, 24, of Atlantic, on a charge of OWI first offense (serious). Nelson was taken to the Cass County Jail and released later that day on her own recognizance.

Turned into authorities

On Aug. 27, John Wesley King IV, 20, of Atlantic, turned himself in at the Cass County Jail on an Atlantic Police Department warrant for Sexual abuse third offense (C Felony). King was later released on $10,000 bond.

Accident

On Aug. 28, at 5:39 p.m., deputies at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one-vehicle accident on Newport Road. A 2003 Dodge Ram, driven by Katelyn Ann Marie Johnson, 16, of Stuart, was eastbound on Newport Road when the driver lost control on loose gravel, rolling into the south ditch. Johnson and a passenger, Haylee Mae Null, 15, of Greenfield, were transported to CCMH via Medivac and Massena Rescue. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $7,500.

Multiple charge arrest

On Sept.1, deputies at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Billy Jack Simon, 46, of Exira, on charges of OWI third/subsequent (D Felony) and driving while revoked (serious). Simon was taken to the Cass County Jail and released later that day on his own recognizance.

OWI arrest

On Sept. 1, deputies at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jacob Jeffrey Dickinson, 31, of Essex, on a charge of OWI first offense (serious). Dickinson was taken to the Cass County Jail and released the following day on $1,000 bond.

Multiple charge arrest

On Sept. 2, deputies at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Terry Dean Calhoun, 62, of Anita, on charges of possession with intent to Deliver >5 Grams of Meth (B Felony); drug tax stamp violation (D Felony); possession of marijuana third/subsequent offense (aggravated); and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple). Calhoun was taken to the Cass County Jail where he remains held on $32,300 bond.

Accident

On Sept. 2, at 7:55 a.m., deputies at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident on Marne Road. A 2004 Ford F-150 driven by Kyle Nicholas Krueger, 22, of Atlantic, was westbound on Marne Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle rolled, coming to rest on the south ditch. Krueger was transported to CCMH via Medivac. The vehicle sustained $5,000 in damage. The incident remains under investigation.
