Two Vehicle Accident
Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office investigated an two vehicle accident on Oct. 6 near the intersection of 110th Street and Highway 48, east of Elliott at approximately 6:33 p.m. A 2005 Mazda Tribute, owned and operated by Roger Schooling of Red Oak, was stopped at a stop sign near the intersection. Schooling turned west onto Highway 48, and due to the sun's glare did not see a 2012 Ford Fusion, owned and operated by Mark Naser of Griswold, which was turning onto 110th Street. Schooling then struck Naser's vehicle. Estimated damage to Schooling's vehicle was $2,000, and estimated damage to Naser's vehicle was $4,000. No citations were given to the visual impact of the sun.
