VOLLEYBALL

Rolling Valley Conference Tournament:

  • CAM took the top seed and drew a first-round bye in the Rolling Valley Conference tournament, to take place Saturday in Woodbine.

The Cougars tied Coon Rapids-Bayard for the regular-season title with a 7-1 record. The Crusaders took the second seed, and a possible match is coming in the semifinals of the upper half of the bracket.

In the meantime, the Cougars will play the winner of Paton-Churdan and Boyer Valley. Glidden-Ralston and CR-B await in the semifinals.

Exira-EHK has the No. 7 seed and will play No. 8 Woodbine; Ar-We-Va and West Harrison are in the other half of that bracket. The two winners meet.

Each first-round loser gets a consolation game, while the semifinalsts get either a championship contest or third-place game.

Audubon Triangular:

  • The Wheelers split their matches in the regular-season finale Thursday night, defeating IKM-Manning in three sets (25-17, 16-25, 15-11) but falling to AHSTW, also in three sets (15-25, 25-16, 15-5).

The Lady Vikes won the match against the Lady Wolves 25-10, 25-19.

Red Oak Triangular:

  • Griswold dropped a pair of non-conference matches to finish its regular season Thursday night in Red Oak.

The Tigers – who earlier this week lost to Sidney in the Corner Conference regular-season concluder – fell to the host Tigers 25-8, 25-7, and to Coon Rapids-Bayard 25-11, 25-11.

Griswold (10-12) opens Iowa Class 1A regional play Monday, Oct. 19, with a first-round contest vs. CAM at Anita.
