CAM players plot strategy during their game Monday night against Boyer Valley.

DUNLAP – It took just four innings Monday night for CAM to claim the Rolling Valley Conference baseball title.

A 12-run crush steamrolled Boyer Valley as the Cougars breezed to a 17-0 rout.

The Cougars set the table for the big inning with a two-run second, when Colby Rich doubled in Lane Spieker, then came home on Ben Tibken’s single to make it 5-0.

The contest was the fourth in five games where the Cougars put up double digit runs on their opponents, a 2-1 win over Coon Rapids-Bayard the lone exception. Now 5-0 in the RVC, the Cougars have a 1-1/2 game lead over Boyer Valley and CR-B, both 4-2.

The Cougars (7-0 overall) travel Orient-Macksburg tonight.
