The pods have been released, and Atlantic will take to the road for its journey to the UNI-Dome.

The “round of 16” game sees the ninth-ranked Trojans placed in Pod B, a loaded four-team bracket that will represent southwest Iowa. Their opponent is 10th-ranked West Marshall of State Center. Both teams are 7-1 going into what will be a battle of the Trojans.

The other half of the bracket has Greene County (7-2) facing unbeaten and third-ranked PCM of Monroe.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association announced the brackets Saturday.

“Round of 16” games are Friday, Oct. 30, with quarterfinal games Nov. 6. The winner advances to the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, games in all five 11-man and the eight-man classes to be played Nov. 12-14.

Riverside, at 8-1, will travel to Logan to take on No. 6 Logan-Magnolia. The winner plays either South O’Brien of Paulina or Council Bluffs St. Albert. These games are in Pod A

The area has the possibility of not one but two teams reaching the UNI-Dome, as No. 3 Audubon and fourth-ranked CAM were split into different pods.

Pod A is where Audubon goes in this northwest-leaning district. They will host ninth-ranked Newell-Fonda at Chis Jones Field. The winner plays either unranked Harris-Lake Park or second-ranked Remsen-St. Marys.

In Pod B, CAM hosts Lamoni. The winner will get either 10th-ranked Fremont-Mills or unranked Martensdale-St. Marys.
