Grant Sturm earned a spot on the all-Hawkeye Ten Conference’s first team in baseball for his play this past summer.
A shortstop, the Trojan junior led the team in batting average (0.451), hits (21), runs scored (17) and stolen bases (10). He had a 58.2-percent on-base percentage.
Junior outfielder Colin Mullenix was named to the second team. He was second on the team in batting average with a 0.342 and had a 55.4-percent on-base appearance.
Gunner Kirchhoff (first base) and Lane Nelson (pitcher) were honorable mention selections for the Trojans.
Hawkeye Ten co-champions Lewis Central and St. Albert, both of Council Bluffs, led the team with three first-team picks each, and both getting a pair of second-team selections. The teams were announced over the weekend and are the result of a vote of league coaches.
