The News-Telegraph is honoring Caroline Pellett and Joe Weaver for their accomplishments in the Atlantic sports world this past week. Both are seniors at Atlantic High School.

Pellett had seven kills in a volleyball triangular against Red Oak and Shenandoah Tuesday night, an evening that ended in a split – a loss to the Tigers but a big win over the Mustangs. Pellett added nine digs against the Tigers.

Pellett has been a part of the varsity volleyball team for three years and has been one of five seniors who have helped rebuild Trojan volleyball, now and for the future.

Weaver waited until last Friday night to score his first varsity touchdown, an 8-yard pass reception from Garrett McLaren, in the homecoming battle against Red Oak. His only reception of the night, the score was appropriate that it came during the first night for the varsity team in the new Trojan Bowl. Weaver is usually a standout on defense, on Friday night assisting on a tackle during a 42-0 win over the Tigers.

Congratulations, Caroline and Joe!
