HARLAN – The second inning did in Atlantic’s baseball team Monday night.

The Trojans were guilty of a pair of miscues and issued five walks, and Harlan took full advantage by scoring seven runs to take control of the Hawkeye Ten Conference contest, en route to an eventual 10-2 win.

Atlantic (2-6, 2-5 Hawkeye Ten) walked 11 Cyclones and were guilty of four errors on the evening in what was otherwise a pretty even game offensively. Harlan had six hits to the Trojans’ five.

Grant Sturm went 2-3 and scored in the third inning off Brenden Atkinson’s RBI single. Wyatt Redinbaugh came home on a wild pitch in the top of the seventh to cap the scoring.

The Trojans will now regroup and keep up their road travels as they go to Red Oak tonight. The Tigers were winless going into Monday night’s games.
