AVOCA — The Audubon Wheelers scored three runs in the seventh inning to come from behind and claim a 5-3 win of AHSTW Monday night in Avoca.
Trailing 3-2 with two outs, second baseman Marcus Olsen’s single to right field drove in the tying run. A few minutes later Olsen would come around to score the winning run when Skyler Schultes hit a deep single to left.
The Wheelers would go on to add an insurance run to seal the win.
Junior left fielder Aiden Alt would drive in two runs and score one while going 1-2 at the plate with a walk. Schultes would also go 1-2 at the plate and score twice.
Joel Klocke would pick up the win for the Wheelers, pitching 6 1/3 innings and giving up three runs on three hits — two earned. He struck out seven and walked three. Jackson Jensen would come in and finish the game shutting down the final two hitters — striking out one.
