AUDUBON — On Thursday, Sept. 10 the Iowa Department of Public Health and Audubon County Public Health have identified an additional case of COVID-19 in the county. The individual is an adult aged 19-40.
This additional case brought Audubon County’s total to 41 positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday morning. This number includes 39 individuals that have recovered, and one death.
According to the Iowa COVID-19 Dashboard ,in Audubon County:
Individuals Tested — 922
Individuals Negative — 879
Individuals Positive — 42 (as of 3:15 p.m. Thursday)
Percentage Positive — 4.6 percent
Positive Cases by age group include: 5 percent children, ages 0-17; 40 percent adults, ages 18-40; 24 percent middle aged, ages 41-60; 26 percent older adult, 61-80 and 5 percent elderly, 80 and over. Those positive cases are evenly split between males and females.
A common question that Audubon County Public Health receives is a request for more information on a COVID-19 positive individual. Please keep in mind that when a new positive case is announced the Iowa Department of Public Health is only allowing the age range of the individual to be released. Due to confidentiality and HIPPA regulations any additional information including the person’s race, ethnicity, gender, city or employer is considered confidential information and cannot be given out.
