Audubon Primary Election Results

AUDUBON COUNTY — Voters went to the polls on Tuesday and voted in the Primary Election, setting up some races for state seats for the General Election in November but no challenges for local candidates.

Locally, the Audubon County Auditor, Lisa Frederiksen and Sheriff Todd Johnson had no challengers, but there were four candidates running for the two open supervisor seats. Incumbents Todd Nelsen and Rick Thompson came out on top, with Nelsen getting 448 votes and Thompson 418. Challenger Louis Wanninger Jr. received 168 votes and Duane Deist received 287.

According to the Audubon County Auditor’s office, the total number of eligible voters (including inactives) was 4,316. There were 1,160 ballots cast, or 26.88 percent. Total Republicans voting: 724; Total Democrats voting: 436.
