AtlanticFest draws a crowd

AtlanticFest draws a crowd — to shop, eat, look at the cars, trucks and motorcycles on display and take in some entertainment. Last year’s event packed Chestnut Street.

ATLANTIC — AtlanticFest — an annual festival in downtown Atlantic — features activities for all; and it is coming up this Saturday, Aug. 10, rain or shine.

The event is presented by First Whitney Bank and Trust, and is a fundraiser for the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce.

Downtown Atlantic will be filled with fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.

“Come early and enjoy a pancake breakfast or start the day off with a run through Schildberg Recreation Area in the annual AtlanticFest Road Race, with chip timing coming back this year,” organizers said.

The annual Tractor Ride is set to kick off at the Cass County Fair Grounds at 8 a.m. There will be crafters from all over southwest Iowa, as well as some of the best food vendors to help satisfy any appetite. Kids can enjoy pony rides and a bounce house, and again this year, a family Carnival.

The year will be the 21st for the festival’s annual Car Show and Motorcycle Show and there will be free entertainment throughout the day.

Registrations for the Car Show, Motorcycle Show and Road Race are going on now or you may sign up the day of the event.
