Lions Club International host Peace Poster Contest

Congratulations to Mara Christensen for her winning picture and $40 of prize money from the Exira Lions Club and 9SW District. Pictured with Mara is Steve Humphries of the Exira Lions and her teacher, Amelia Teegerstom.

Lions Club International hosts a “Peace Poster Contest” that goes out to the clubs throughout the world to enter. The contest is set up on a theme each year.

This year’s contest theme was “Path to Peace.” Mara, with other students at Exira-EHK, took on the challenge to create a picture to display that theme without words in the picture.

Mara Christensen’s entry was selected by the Exira Lion Club to be their entry at the 9SW District level which covers from Perry down to Leon to the Missouri River Valley of 51 clubs.

Mara’s entry won third place at the district level in December behind Adel and Indianola clubs entry. Here are some of the rules for the contest as set up by the LCI Board.
