Audubon Jazz Band Places Second in Triton Jazz Festival

On Thursday, Jan. 9, the Audubon High School Jazz Band, under the direction of Victoria Chargo, competed at the Triton Jazz Festival hosted by Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge.

The festival, a two-day affair, included 36 high school jazz bands from 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A classes. In the 1A Division, Audubon placed second.

Outstanding soloists awards were given to Dennis Jackson on trumpet/flugelhorn, Clay Perry on saxophone, Landon Frahm on bass, and Clare Christensen on trombone.

The jazz band also performed on Jan. 22 for the WIC Jazz Festival hosted by IKM-Manning, and will perform at the SWIBA Dick Bauman Jazz Festival on Feb. 17, and Thursday, Feb. 27 at Audubon High School for the band and choir concert.
