DES MOINES - You and a flu shot at participating Medicap pharmacies equals 12 meals to the local food pantry. Medicap Pharmacy is proud to continue a 3-year partnership with the Food Bank of Iowa with their fall flu shot promotion. Medicap Pharmacy believes it is important to be involved in the community and this is an excellent opportunity to help others. Through the partnership with the Food Bank of Iowa, Medicap Pharmacy will donate 12 meals to the local food pantry for every flu shot given at participating Medicap Pharmacy locations from Sept. 23 through Nov. 23-. The goal for the 20 participating Central Iowa locations is to beat last year’s numbers of 79,800 meals!
“We are very excited to partner with Medicap Pharmacy again this year to help feed Iowans in need. In just two years, their efforts have provided over 140,000 meals to community partners across Food Bank of Iowa’s 55-county service area,” said Dylan Lampe, Senior Manager of Marketing & Communications for Food Bank of Iowa. “Getting a flu shot is common for many Iowans so having the opportunity to help someone in need at the same time is a benefit to everyone!”
“We know the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from the flu is by being vaccinated and by getting your flu shot at Medicap, we are able to help others in need right in our own community!” says Cheri Schmit, R.Ph., Clinical Director at Medicap Pharmacy.
