Sept. 1, 2020 — Albert the Bull Park

The meeting was called to order by President Bob Ruhs at 6:30 p.m.

There were 14 members and one guest present.

The secretary’s report was read and approved.

The treasurer reported a total of $14,501.64. All but one member has paid dues.

We have a request from the school nurse that a male student at the elementary school is in need of glasses. (Motion Barb, Second Todd. Motion passed.) The cost is not to exceed $200 to Eye Associates. The nurse is aware of financial needs, and we feel we can always trust her recommendations.

Old Business:

The picture taken when the chamber bucks were given to the football players and coaches should be in the paper this week. Gary shared that submissions should be sent to

Barb offered to talk to Eric Trager to inquire if there are any needs of students or teachers that we could help with.

Barb shared a picture she took of the Lions Logo sign on the north side of town. She was unable to locate the sign on the south side.

New Business:

Linda asked if we could donate to the Relay for Life event on the square on Sunday, Sept. 13. Lawn signs will be put up to be viewed by passers-by in their cars. We will donate $100. (Motion Bub, Second Todd. Motion passed.) Barb will contact Kelley at Audubon State Bank with this decision.

We are grateful to Virginia Mennenoh for updating a modified version of last year’s trifold.

Gary is distributing them.

At this time, Kids Sight is on hold. The schools are not wanting this testing to happen due to COVID-19. We will re-evaluate in the spring to see if it may be possible then.

It was agreed that with fewer members, having fewer board members is reasonable. In case of a tie in voting, the president will break the tie.

The board is meeting at the Memorial Building on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. A regular club meeting will be held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Memorial Building at 6:30 p.m. thru November, with no meal and no program.
