It’s coming up this weekend, Nov. 9-10, with a production Saturday at 7 p.m. and another Sunday at 2 p.m. The Audubon High School choir and drama students are presenting the Disney musical, FREAKY FRIDAY.
Ellie (Anna Campbell, a junior at AHS) and her mother, Katherine (Kaitlyn Kroll, also a junior) wish they had each other’s simple lives. So, a magic curse having to do with a magical hour glass makes the them switch bodies. Enjoy the crazy characters in this hilarious show as they realize they really do love and appreciate each other. They even learn important lessons from the mean p.e. teacher played by Elizabeth Zaiger (junior) and the mean girl in school who is at the top of the social hierarchy at Ellie’s high school, played by Hannah Thygesen (sophomore). Ellie’s annoying little brother, played by Dennis Jackson (senior) and Katherine’s finance, Mike, played by Landon Frahm (senior) will melt your hearts as they show the true meaning of love in a family. While the entire cast sings amazing songs written by Tom Kitt, you will laugh and cry at this hilarious show. Of course, Ellie has a crush on the cool guy in school, played by Nicholas Nieves (senior). However at Ellie’s side are her two best friends, Gretchen and Hannah, played by seniors Morgan Lawson and Sophia Sebetka. All the while, the daughter is in the mother’s body and is trying to cater her own wedding with her uptight catering assistant, Torrey, by her side, played by junior, Madison Vorm.
