Food Truck Battle: Barrel Smoke BBQ sells out

AUDUBON - All your slow-cooked BBQ favorites, along with homemade mashed potatoes, homemade macaroni and cheese, and signature sauce are what make Barrel Smoke BBQ popular.

Owner Eric White and his wife Crista, a teacher who helps him out with the truck in the summer, came to Audubon for last weekend's Food Truck Battle.

They dealt with long lines, and sold out, coming in second in the competition, losing by just three votes, Eric said.

"It was incredible," he said, "We pretty much sold out!"

The food truck serves brisket, pulled pork, sometimes sliced turkey or pork loins, chicken quarters, ribs, BBQ nachos and more.

One especially popular offering is the BBQ Barrel, "with home made mashed potato, your choice of smoked meat, smoked baked beans on top of that, home made macaroni and cheese on top of that, french fries, onions and BBQ sauce," Eric said.

Barrel Smoke BBQ is often found in Carroll - and you can find out more about their schedule at their Facebook page at Barrel Smoke BBQ.
