Arrests

On Feb. 4, 32-year-old Jennifer Meese-Cherry of Audubon was cited for allowing a dog at large. She was cited and released on scene. During this same incident, 34-year-old Robert Taylor Glidden of Audubon was arrested for disorderly conduct. Glidden was cited and released on scene.

On Feb. 4, 24-year-old Rae Beth Horton of Audubon for domestic abuse with a dangerous weapon. Horton was arrested and transported to the Audubon County Jail to appear before a magistrate.

On Feb. 5, 23-year-old Andrew Allen Malloy was arrested for two counts of driving under suspension, two counts of failure to provide proof of Insurance. Also arrested on 2-16-20 on a warrant for Failure to Serve Mittimus. Malloy was arrested and transported to the Audubon County Jail for each arrest.

On Feb. 7, 38-year-old Karen Ann Hulbert of Audubon for violation of parole. Hulbert was arrested and transported to the Audubon County Jail for transport.

Cass

Arrests

On Feb. 3, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Blake Michael Zweck, 23, of Madison, Wis., on a District Court warrant for violation of probation. Zweck was taken to the Cass County Jail and later released upon sentencing.

On Feb. 7, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jenny Rana Reese, 48, of Clarinda, on a charge of OWI second offense (aggravated). Reese was taken to the Cass County Jail and released the following day on her own recognizance.

On Feb. 8, as the result of a traffic stop, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Daniel Fredrick Compton, 77, of Bridgewater, on a charge of OWI first offense (serious) and Dawn Marie Good, 61, of Bridgewater, on a charge of possession of meth first offense (serious). Both parties were taken to the Cass County Jail and released the following day on their own recognizances.

On Feb. 9, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Justin Paul Parker, 38, of Adair, on charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine (B Felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple). Parker was taken to the Cass County Jail and remains held on $25,000 bond.

On Feb. 12, deputies at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joel Shawn Thomas White, 26, of Council Bluffs, on a District Court warrant for probation violation. White was taken to the Cass County Jail where he remains held on $10,000 bond.

On Feb. 16, deputies at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Meghan Lynn Paulsen, 39, of Atlantic, on a charge of OWI first offense (serious). Paulsen was taken to the Cass County Jail and released later that day on her own recognizance.

Accidents

On Feb. 5, at approximately 12:40 p.m., deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident on White Pole Road. A 2013 Chevy Cruze owned and driven by Kelly Ann Stonehocker, 49, of Adair, was following a slow-moving vehicle, when the Chevy was rear-ended by a 2003 Ford Focus owned and driven by a Katelynn Michelle Scar, 18, of Adair. A passenger in the Chevy was transported to CCMH via Anita Fire and Rescue for possible injury. Damage to Stonehocker’s vehicle is estimated at $500; damage to Scar’s vehicle is estimated at $2,000. Scar was cited for following too close.

On Feb. 7, at 4:18 p.m., deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident at Quincy and Lewis roads. A 2005 Chevy Uplander driven by Leslie Marie Karns, 31, of Lewis, was northbound on Lewis Road when it struck a 2015 Chevy Silverado owned and driven by Dwayne Robert McDaniel, 22, of Elliott, which had attempted a south turn onto Lewis Road and did not clear the intersection before the collision. No injuries were noted. Damage to Karns’ vehicle is estimated at $5,000; damage to McDaniel’s vehicle is estimated at $3,000.

Arrests

On Feb. 11, Matthew James Baucom, 38, of Harlan, was arrested following a call for service. Baucom was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with disorderly conduct.

On Feb. 13, Alejandro Isidoro Hernandez, 43, of Harlan, was arrested following a call for service. Hernandez was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with domestic abuse assault and child endangerment.

Accidents

On Feb. 14, in the vicinity of Highway 50 and Lincoln Avenue, a 2017 Buick Envoy driven by Mary Grundmeier of Carroll was traveling south on Highway 59. A 2018 Ford F250 driven by Randy Schnack of Oakland was traveling west on Lincoln Avenue. Schnack said he couldn’t see Grundmeier’s vehicle because of the large mirrors on his truck. He struck Grundmeier’s Envoy along the driver’s side, causing minor damage. His Ford also sustained minor damage.

Also on Feb. 14, a 2009 Saturn Aura, driven by Mason Bergantzel of Harlan was traveling eastbound in the high school parking lot. The driver lost control of the vehicle striking a street sign, and left the scene of the accident.

Arrest

On Feb. 11, deputies at the Adair County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Des Moines resident for possession of drug paraphernalia. Jasmina Gusalic, 22, was cited and released from the location of the traffic stop.
