Oct. 22 — Dale Eugene Stinn, 63, of Harlan, was charged with theft fifth and improper use of registration.
Oct. 24 — Kevin Todd Sparks, 58, of Harlan, was arrested after a call for service. Sparks was transported to the Shelby County Jail where he was charged with unnecessary noise.
Nov. 2 — Craig Steven Mumm, 33, of Harlan, was cited for driving while suspended following a traffic stop.
Oct. 26 — Mason Rhodes of Defiance was traveling south on Highway 59 driving a 2005 Buick Park Avenue and struck a 2013 Hyundai Sonata driven by Hallie Funk of Portsmouth. The Hyundai was pushed into a 2003 Ford F Series driven by Hayden Hillgartner of Earling; and that vehicle was pushed into a 2012 Nissan Altima driven by Owen Monson of Irwin. The Buick had disabling damage to the front; the Hyundai had disabling damage to the rear and front; the Ford had minor damage to the rear bumper and the Nissan had damage from a plow unit to the rear bumper. The Buick and Hyundai had to be towed from the scene.
Nov. 2 — Adam Wuesthoff, of Blair, Neb., was driving a 2017 Freightliner traveling north through the Burger King parking lot, the trailer caught the trailer hitch on a 2019 Ford F Series owned by Marvin Thraen of Harlan, and pulled it into a 2015 Ford Explorer owned by Amber Jacobsen of Harlan.
On Nov. 5, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s office arrested Charles Theodore Shroyer, 41, of Atlantic, on a charge of driving while barred (an aggravated misdemeanor). Shroyer was taken to the Cass County Jail and transferred the following day to Guthrie County on their warrant.
On Nov. 6, 2020, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a juvenile party in Griswold. Upon investigation, Gavin Brett Fell-Nichols, 20, of Griswold, was arrested on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of minors (simple misdemeanor). Fell-Nichols was taken to the Cass County Jail and released the following day on his own recognizance. Collin Jacob Clarken, 18, of Atlantic, was cited into court on a charge of possessing alcohol underage (simple misdemeanor). Two 17-year-old males, a 16-year-old female, and a 16-year-old male were cited into Juvenile Court on possession of alcohol under 18 (simple misdemeanor) and were released to their parents.
On Nov. 9, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Steven Robert Pedersen, 39, of Council Bluffs, on a Department of Corrections warrant for parole violation. Pedersen was taken to the Cass County Jail where he remains held for pick-up on no bond.
On Nov. 9, deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brian Harold Eilts, 38, of Massena, on a Cass County Sheriff’s Department warrant charges of willful injury (a Class D Felony) and domestic abuse assault (aggravated misdemeanor). Eilts remains held at the Cass County Jail on no bond.
