More About The Pickers Parlor

Amanda Graham is the owner of The Picker’s Parlor, a Vintage & Artisan Marketplace, at 302 W 2nd St in Atlantic, Iowa. The Picker’s Parlor is 4000+ sq ft of over 25 vendors and an array of consigners under one roof. Items featured include antiques, primitives, vintage, new décor, farmhouse items, signs, used clothing, new and used jewelry, beauty and bath products, chalk paint and DIY supplies, barnboard furniture, upcycled and repurposed items, quilts and other sewn items, and so much more!

The Franklin Market, at 402 Chestnut in downtown Atlantic, is the sister store of The Picker’s Parlor, also owned and operated by Amanda Graham. It offers a one-stop shop option for multiple items, housing consignment antiques, contemporary décor and furniture, vintage items, & collectibles, while also serving as the new home of Renew & Co clothing, boots, shoes, and more. We also feature local artists and builders, currently featuring reclaimed and rough sawn furniture items and locally made trendy t-shirts. We are also excited to make room for Coffeegirl this fall, with our very own quaint coffee shop!

We are currently accepting clients for our waiting list to consign items within the store and look forward to the upcoming launch of our online auction service. Stay tuned for details, but feel free to contact Amanda with questions!

Amanda was born and raised in Cass County and graduated from Anita High School. She then graduated from Grand View College in Des Moines with a bachelor's in nursing and spent 14 years in the healthcare field. She decided to take the jump from part-time junker to full-time business owner in 2015 and The Picker's Parlor was born.

Amanda and her husband, Ryan, live in the country in an old farmhouse they completely renovated in 2013. No stranger to projects, they then tackled the building now home to Picker's and three years later, added a building project in downtown Atlantic, now home to The Franklin Market. Ryan and Amanda have three kids: Aubrey, Astelle, and Eli, who keep them busy on top of everything else. If there ever is any spare time, they spend it camping, boating, or getting away for a break.

The Picker's Parlor truly is a family affair. Amanda's mom and dad, Eldon and Kris Dorsey, are often helping out in the shop, from working at the counter, to doing online auction work, to helping with building needs and repair. Amanda's sister, Mindi Matthies, is owner of Willow + Lotus, the clothing boutique inside The Franklin Market.

"We want you to enjoy your experience at the Parlor, as much as we love being there. It is our home away from home, and we hope you'll come visit us often-" Amanda.
