PREP BOYS' BASKETBALL: All 5 starters honored as RVC all-conference

Junior Cash Emgarten and senior Trey Petersen were first-team choices, while junior Aiden Flathers, and seniors Derrek Kommes and Easton Nelson were second team choices.

All of them put up impressive stats this season, and it was instrumental in leading the Spartans to a 19-5 overall record, and a second-place finish in the rugged RVC, a league that had three district final teams.

Emgarten, Flathers and Nelson each averaged 10 or more points per game, with Emgarten’s 15.2 a team best. Nelson had 128 rebounds and 23 blocked shots, while Petersen was the primary playmaker with 88 assists, with Flathers adding 74. Kommes led the rebounding corps with 142 boards and added 13 blocks.

Koleson Evans and Sage Evans, and teammate Mason King, all from from West Harrison, were unanimous selections, as the Hawkeyes reached the state semifinals this week. Coon Rapids-Bayard’s Lance Clayburg was also a unanimous first-team pick.
